Winter is Finally Here!

I left Lynchburg extremely early this morning in order to beat the anticipated winter storm to Northern Virginia. It just started snowing -- our first real sign of winter, aside from the puffed up cardinal of a few days ago. The temperature is so low that it's already sticking to everything -- including my little outdoor office. With the forecast calling for several inches, I should have some much whiter pictures tomorrow; for today, I'm just excited that winter hasn't passed us by!

I am jealous! It totally missed Louisville, above us and below us, got at least some snow...but not us! Oh well, there is one more system on its way, so I will hold out hope :)

Congrats on starting the project too! I loved the pictures of your old hometown.

Love Virginia. Glad you have snow! I wish we had some, but in the Deep South it's rare! So I'm enjoying everyone elses' snow vicariously.

I've not been able to make the rounds of the blogs for a few days. I love the cardinal shot! And cemeteries are some of my favorite places to visit, so I really like those shots, too.

This is beautiful! But I can't seem to take photos everyday as we have a small area here. :)

Lovely photos Matt!

The picture was actually taken from the elevated back deck behind our house, so I was above and away from the building. It's actually a really good size -- roughly 15x20. Makes for a great getaway.....
